"Supporting everyone with reiki"

Formerly organised under the name of 'The Practitioner Support Programme' the team became aware over quite a period of time that Reiki people were asking for more experience in community, and for more Reiki in the seminars, and that the programme had also deepened in many aspects. The meaning of the word 'practitioner' had often been misconstrued, many thinking it only referred to those who earned their living doing Reiki, whilst in fact it included all who practised Reiki on themselves, regardless of whether they 'practised' on others. Hence, at their meeting in January, a new name was born:
O
'THE DEEPENING PRACTICE NETWORK!'

The DPN team & the practice of Reiki

Over 2007 Milly, Julia, Kate, and Lynda of the then PSP Team, arranged some great events, but as the year drew to a close Lynda sadly stepped down from the team. However, another valued member then joined, Annette Bunning. Like most of the team Annette has lots of experience in organising seminars and events, so we look forward to a great time in the future!

The team are always looking at ways to provide events that appeal to not just those people who are interested in public practice, but to anyone who has Reiki, who wishes to deepen and explore their practice.

It seems that the word 'practice' has different connotations and we would like to bring some clarity to our meaning of 'practice' and 'practitioner'.

Originally the seminars and events envisaged by the team were for those people with Reiki who were considering moving towards Public Practice if not already practising within the public domain. Over the years we have reviewed our understanding of the term 'practitioner' to include ALL those who practise Reiki on themselves. This may or may not include practising on others.

Therefore our events are now designed to address 'those people practising on themselves who wish to deepen and expand their Reiki practice'.

While the The Reiki Association is discussing its future, the DPN team have put things on hold, until we know what role (if any) the team will have in the future.
